Restaurant Potong

Potong has become Bangkok’s most talked about restaurant. It’s a culinary adventure and feast for the senses hosted and orchestrated by Chef Pam. But Chef Pam’s fusion creations taste and look so very good also because they are served in a backdrop of a 120 year old Bangkok townhouse, renovated and brought to life by Bangkok interior designer Irinrat Prasongchaikul and her team of Sojourn Design. Potong has been shortlisted for the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards in the category Heritage.

The house, representing 4 generations of chef Pam’s family history, was redesigned with the finest eye for detail, history, culture and symbolism. Each floor has its own style, story and richness of detail, showcasing traditional Chinese craft in combination with state of the art modern manufacturing, lighting design and spatial quality.

7 conceptual themes have guided Sojourn design in their approach to the redesign of the 5 story townhouse.

Construction of Potong

The 120 year old Chinatown house of Potong was renovated over a period of 8 months by the Sojourn studio team, consisting of design director Jern Prasongchailkul, designer Mint van der Rohe, 1 mural artist and a team of 8 carpenters, 7 painters, 2 stone masons, 4 iron mongers, 1 project manager and 1 site manager.
